I’ve been photographing the Lahr family for a few years now, so I’ve come to appreciate watching their family grow throughout each shoot. We’ve been going to the same church for years, but our relationship really began with their daughter Emma’s newborn session. Soon enough, I was capturing photos of their whole family!

We met up with each other at two different locations for this shoot. Crest Road provided a beautiful backdrop for this sweet family. If I’m honest though, I’m always wary of people wandering too close to the edge! Thankfully the kids were able to run free at our next location, Altadena Golf course. The site is abandoned due to a flood from a few years ago, so it’s essentially a photographers playground! I am always thankful when a location allows for plenty of creative freedom.

The kids loved wandering around the fields, smelling the flowers, and finding sticks and pine cones. Their family played together, laughed, and soaked up the last of the summer warmth. I’ve loved seeing their joy-filled faces as I’ve edited these photos, and I can’t wait to photograph this family again soon!
