Madison sat on the opposite couch and said, “Guys. I’m pregnant!”

Squeals ensued, followed by hugs all around from our whole small group. We had studied the Bible together for a whole year and that day began a special journey as we awaited Pearse’s arrival. Every week we got to see Madison’s cute bump get a little bigger, then all of a sudden it was baby watch time! Watching her get so excited about becoming a mother was a joy.

Rewind eight years… I sat in the choir room and met Hayden. He sat right behind me in the tenor section and I was always impressed with his pipes (among the rest of the human population!). We became friends as we discovered both of our Dads were pastors, sang together in choir for a year and even traveled to Europe with our group to compete on the international stage! Now we attend the same church, his sweet wife is one of my great friends and now he is a Dad!

It was the truest honour to photograph these sacred moments between the three of them as Pearse turned 10 days old. They swaddled him like a champ, changed diapers, picked out adorable outfits and gazed at their beautiful baby boy. I’m grateful for the way these two exhibit generosity, kindness, friendship and godliness. And can’t believe they’re parents!
