This Is The Gospel

If you’re wandering around on my blog, you’ll notice that I try to tie my faith into everything I do. It’s the heartbeat behind my mission and my business, and I decided, “why not explicitly share it with my friends?” So here we are. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ…
In the beginning of time, God created everything. He was there in heaven from the beginning. He is the ultimate designer who created life so intricately, intentionally and perfectly. From the fact that the earth is the perfect distance from the sun to the amazing ways our bodies function, only such genius could be created. Everything was made from something and somebody.
God created the universe because of two reasons:
1) He is a creator. Just as I am an artist, God is an artist. Have you ever seen an amazing sunset or seen a picture of the Hubble Telescope? The universe is a glorious display of his majestic works.

2) He wants relationship with us as humans.

Why does he want relationship with humans? Because He made us. We are His creation, and He delights in us. Just like the way a parent delights in their child because they made them, so God delights in you.

Now, God didn’t stay up in heaven forever. 2000 years ago according to history, Jesus of Nazareth was born to a girl named Mary. His birth was a miracle, and He spent the rest of His life performing miracles.

Jesus is the only one of His kind. He is the Son of God. He lived a perfect life. If you’ve ever lied, cheated, hated someone, got jealous, wanted bad for another person or anything that society calls “wrong,” then you’re imperfect, just like me. But, Jesus? He lived a perfect life. No record of wrongs. Completely perfect. Because Jesus is perfect and so pure, even the slightest sin is offensive to Him and the penalty for a guilty sentence is death. I do believe in heaven and hell.

Before Jesus came, the only way people talked to God was through sacrifices in the temple. Jesus came to earth to bridge the gap between us and God. He died on the cross to bridge the gap. He died so we wouldn’t have to go to hell. He supernaturally took all our sin and wrongdoing – past, present and future – on His shoulders and took the death penalty for us.

BUT the most amazing news is that after Jesus died, He was laid in a tomb. And after three long days, He was raised from the dead! Another miracle. He rose from the dead to prove that death doesn’t have the final word. Jesus is risen, and offers abundant life for us.

My story is this: I was born into a Christian home and asked God to be King of my life when I was five. I grew up learning about Jesus through the Bible and was baptized when I was 12. I’ve always loved God. But it really wasn’t until this past year that I really learned how trustworthy He is. I endured a really difficult year, and learned that although circumstances may be difficult and some things may never work out the way I’d hoped on this earth, God is constant. I’ve learned that the Bible is life, breath and refreshment for my soul. God is a comfort in times of hurt and is better than anything else this world could offer me. I’ve given my life to following Jesus because I know that in Him I will have more joy than anything else. I’ve experienced Him work miracles in my life, and I cannot wait to spend eternity with God in heaven when my time comes.

That’s what I’m dedicating my life to telling people — that you can also have that eternal life too. I’m not sure what your experience with religion is, but I know that Christianity is not as much a religion than it is a relationship with God. He is loving, kind, compassionate and the greatest joy you could ever know.
