Birthday

Today, I officially entered legal adulthood in the states of Alabama and Nebraska. I love birthdays! Today was so special, and I’d like you to hear about it.

I woke up at 7:40. Jetlag, so I’ve previously experienced.

I suddenly looked around my room and thought to myself, “Who am I? I don’t need all this stuff!” So started my cleaning and clearing rampage. I like to do that often. It’s rather freeing; you should try it. So the first part of my morning, while the sun was still rising (it felt pretty early), was spent tidying, cleaning, and sorting…. solid stuff.

Then my sweet 13-year-old, going-on-cake-boss sister made us breakfast!

After experiencing her delightful cooking, I went to the place that holds all my dreams, hopes, and joy: CHICK-FIL-A. If there was anywhere that I’d go to eat on my birthday or any special occasion, it’d be there. Such variety, happiness, and great chicken.

Lunch was spent with the beautiful Katie Anders; my kindred spirit, Zimbabwean enthusiast, expert doodler, lover of Jesus. It was rather exceptional. It was also a joy to see some great people: Kings, Michael, Adam, and Betty. Super cool kids.

Next stop was Starbucks with the wonderful Ashley Weaver. This girl keeps me laughing for hours…. literally. from 1:30-4:30 we laughed. A lot. She also writes great blogs. You can read them if you click on her name! Ashley is so in tune with the Lord. Love being around her!

In the middle of our Starbucks date, sweet Emily Smith called from Mexico! She let some Mexican children sing “Happy Birthday”! Completely blew me away.

Next up: Jammin’ with the fam. I printed out “Winter Snow” by Audrey Assad. And even though it’s not Christmas, golly gee that song is SO GOOD! Alex and I put a jazz beat to it. Yes yes and yes.

The best part of the day was eating with my family and second family, the Conrads. They’ve all been there at every ‘rite of passage’ (so to say) point in my life. We had so much fun that I’d count it as one of the best dinners ever.

And to top it all off, we watched Prince Caspian as a family. Can it get much better?

Actually yes. I shall bid you bloggers adieu, as I’m about to Oovoo (12-way Skyping) with my A Cappella friends. So excited.

Have a great night. Thank you for making this day so incredible! God is so very good. I don’t deserve it, but He deserves all glory.
