Christy Vest | Morris Avenue Headshots

Though I’m not a feminist, I’m happy to feature Christy on the blog for International Women’s Day. Christy is a singer, musical director and actress, and we sang together in the Samford A Cappella Choir when we were in college. Joining A Cappella was an experience like none other, and I left it having made tons of lifelong friends with whom I share a special bond. It was so fun to photograph Christy, and you’ll soon see (in about 10 seconds) that she has the most amazingly beautiful eyes.

Morris Avenue is always an excellent backdrop for any type of portrait session. It’s got cobblestone, old buildings and textured walls….a photographer’s dream, right?! I’m loving all the development that’s happening in downtown Birmingham, including the under-construction Founder’s Station, which will include two restaurants! The Magic City is just the best.

I also love working with budding artists. You see the drive in their eyes. They leave their passion on the stage. They stay up late honing their craft. They attend conferences, workshops and classes to develop their skill.

It’s a constant learning and growing process to not only compete with other talent, but to compete with yourself to create excellent work. Here’s to the creatives, who work day-in and day-out with discipline, passion and commitment!
