Broadway is in Birmingham! I had the pleasure of working with Nia Holloway, cast as Nala in Disney’s The Lion King, when the show was in town last month.

We met up at the BJCC and worked with allllll the concrete to go with a tough-girl vibe. Lemme tell ya, concrete isn’t really my preferred backdrop, but Nia rocked it and we had so much fun! Nia has a YouTube series of her life on the road, so watch out for my face in one of her videos soon 😉

Nia is the youngest actress to be cast as the role of Nala since the show opened in 1997. She was 17 when she got the role, and has been performing in The Lion King for four and a half years. This girl exudes confidence and beauty, and she has some killer vocals to prove it!

I went to see The Lion King musical in London a few years ago, and it is an incredible show full of imaginative costumes, people on stilts, breathtaking scenes and songs that give you chills. There’s not one dry eye in the house when “The Circle of Life” concludes. I hope you get to catch it on the road this season! If not, the show is not going anywhere any time soon (I mean….except on the road).
