There is something so special about photographing a friend, especially when that friend is as talented and driven as Olivia Jones. Olivia is an incredible Birmingham, AL photographer (if you haven’t seen her work, you absolutely should), and getting to step behind the camera for her branding session felt like such a full-circle moment. We’ve known each other for years, so capturing this new era of her business was equal parts meaningful and FUN.
For this fresh chapter, we headed to Juniper, an urban, swanky bar tucked into historic Forest Park in Birmingham. The moody blue walls, vintage frames, velvet seating, and dramatic lighting were the perfect backdrop for the elevated, high-energy direction Olivia is stepping into. Plus, she brought the BEST outfit options! From chic neutrals to punchy statement pieces (and those sparkly boots!!!), she’s fully embracing this boss babe phase of her brand. We played with light, leaned into the glam bar vibes, and incorporated all the personality-filled decor Juniper has to offer. It was bold, stylish, and so her.
What I love most about these images is how confidently they reflect Olivia. She’s creative, magnetic, wildly talented, and not afraid to evolve, and this session captured that beautifully. Branding sessions are about more than headshots. They’re about visually declaring, “This is who I am, and this is where I’m going!” I’m so proud of Olivia and so excited to watch this new season of her business unfold.
