The Glimpse: July 2022

This month I remembered that crepe myrtles are the bomb.

Every July I’m so shocked that these beautiful trees come back in bloom, and it’s the sweetest surprised! I’m obsessed with the bright colours, the teeny tiny detail and the fact that the daintily fall on the ground.

This month I turned 29!

One year until my thirties – ahhhhh. 29 started off with a bang and honestly I still feel like I’m 26 so here I am, not quite sure what to do with that information yet! It was a sweet day filled with working with my bestie, chasing a mural down, sipping good coffee, surprise pop-ins from precious people and a wonderful dinner of friends crammed around a small circular table!

This month I worked on a lot of projects.

New client boxes, a new coaching program, web updates and a bi-annual checkin were on the books for this month, and it was great to reset in the middle of the year. Being a business owner is so much fun, and though it comes with a lot of variety and responsibility, I love assessing from 30,000 feet and determining next best steps.

This month I did a lot of exploring and eating good food.

Birmingham is JUST THE BEST and if you’ve never been before, you’re missing out! There are new restaurants, stores and eclectic shops popping up all the time and keeping up with it all is so much fun. I popped in Shoppe, Quinlan, June Coffee, Frothy Monkey and Homewood over July Fourth, as well as making yummy food with friends. Also added Bay Leaf, Slim’s, Blueprint on 3rd and El ZunZun to the list!

This month I only shot one wedding!

I turned down all July weddings for 2022 besides one, who is a friend. This particular wedding was incredible and so emotional, and – better yet – I got to spend time with these great friends! It was so sweet to have most of July to spend with friends and rest up for the fall.

This month I discipled two precious girls.

Spending time growing with Kate and Emily was so special! They interned at Shades this summer and we met a few times to study the Bible, process all they’re learning and make plans for personal and spiritual growth.

This month the world came to Birmingham!

The World Games descended upon the Magic City, and Rach and I watched the gymnastics! It was truly awe-inspiring and I can’t count how many times I gasped, ha!

This month held some fun happies.

Disposable camera pictures, flowers filling our home, training for a 5K and many more sweet moments with people. I wonder what August will hold!!
