As If You Haven’t Heard It Already..

I’m tracking the Supreme Court DOMA and Proposition 8 trials and backlash for the next two weeks for a public relations class I’m taking. It’s exposed me to many different argument points but also how much unresolved bitterness there is in society. My heart has been heavy in prayer this week as the Supreme Court Justices have a weighty case on their hands– a case for which court house seats have sold for $6,000. It has been trending on all social media platforms and a stream of articles have been posted, for which I am thankful. I’m thankful for research and for free speech. However, it’s appalling what people post sometimes and it casts a bad light on not only some Evangelicals but also same-sex marriage advocates.

Aaaaaaanyways, since I am not adequately equipped to write an entire blog post on the issue yet, I’ve provided a few interesting reads that will prompt thought and an increasing desire to live holy lives, in the knowledge that we are sinners in a cursed world and only the blood of Jesus Christ reconciles us to Himself–to restore the perfect unity in the beginning. God defines life–our life is not our own. “You are not your own; you were bought with a price” – 1 Corinthians 6:19.

“Girls, for example, are likelier to suffer sexual abuse and to have children as teenagers and out of wedlock if they do not grow up with their father. For their part, boys reared without their father tend to have much higher rates of aggression, delinquency, and incarceration.”

“Unfortunately (and quite ironically), many Christians have been bullied into silence by the mere threat of censure from the homosexual lobby.”
