Being Intentional

I’ve missed my best friends being my best friends.

Does that make sense?

There are 6 of us who have been best friends since 8th grade. We’ve been through a lot of rough patches, but we’ve always been close and have really been accountable to each other.

Now that we’re all in college (about to be sophomores…. crazy) I’ve struggled with still seeing them as my best friends. It’s sometimes been awkward when we’ve hung out altogether.

But maybe that’s because I’m not being intentional enough.

When this realization dawned on me, for some reason, I began to feel closer to them than ever. To be honest, I think that we all realized it. There’s something in all of us that wants to finish well. Don’t you? As summer drew to a close, we realized that the year ahead had arrived. So, in the past week, I’ve had a 3-hour-long conversation about life, books, and weddings with Andrea last week; Emileigh and I had a quick but exciting conversation yesterday; and Madeline and I bond over her new camera settings.

Branch out today. Go the extra mile for relationships. Don’t be afraid about awkward situations. Being awkward is fun!

What a blessing friends are!
