October 12th was a whirlwind of a day, but it’s just like Caroline and Austin to go big or go home! We spent the day at The Tate House, an elegant mansion sitting on 72 stunning acres of land overlooking the Northern Georgia mountains. Caroline and Austin’s personalities are vibrant, genuine and beautiful, and the entire day represented them perfectly. The sun was shining and the mild fall temperatures couldn’t be beat. As I wandered around the venue snapping shots of all the sweet details, I thanked the Lord for such a beautiful day of celebrating Caroline and Austin!
Caroline and her bridesmaids got ready together that morning in the stunning Tate House bridal suite. Music played, mimosas were made and the room was always full of laughter. Plus, I couldn’t get enough of their matching striped pajamas! Too cute!!!
Caroline’s bridal gown completely blew my mind! The chic silhouette mixed with the feminine fluff created a jaw-dropping look. But wait, there’s more! Caroline’s veil is perhaps the coolest one I’ve ever seen a bride wear, and I’ve seen quite a few veils in my day. I couldn’t wait to get her outside so we could fluff out that train and get to photographing!
Caroline’s bridesmaids were just as in love with her look as I was! This sweet group of girls spent the whole day hyping up their bride, it was such a sweet display of love and friendship!
Caroline and Austin did not have a first look with each other, so we did their bridesmaids and groomsmen portraits separately before the ceremony. I loved telling Austin how beautiful his bride looked and watching their anticipation grow and grow all afternoon!
About 150 guests joined us at the Tate House that afternoon to watch Caroline and Austin tie the knot. But there was one small surprise before it was Caroline’s turn to walk down the aisle: a groomsman on flower girl duties! Not going to lie, it was hard to get it together after laughing so hard a this one … I think it was the perfect way to help calm Austin’s nerves before seeing his bride for the first time!
And now, on to more serious business.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as we all watched Caroline and Austin’s tears while reading their vows. What a special moment to witness!
Sunset was approaching, so Caroline, Austin and I headed out to take some newly-married golden hour photos! They’re my favourite kind of golden hour photos…
Caroline and Austin’s reception was the definition of a great party. The dance floor was full all night long, and the joy on Caroline and Austin’s faces was unbeatable! From first dances to cake cutting to that last song, the energy was high throughout it all.
They even made sure to incorporate a few details highlighting their dog, Sage! Her face was on drink stirrers, koozies, the cake and even a big fathead they passed around the dance floor. We love you, Sage!
I couldnt’ be more thankful to have witnessed this special day! I’m so honoured to have captured Caroline and Austin’s love in this way, and I can’t wait to see where the Lord takes them. This day couldn’t have happened without the entire vendor team, so shoutout to all the great vendors that made it possible!
