Clark + Rebekah: Shades Mountain Baptist Church

May 18th, 2024 was a day filled with joy, love and a sense of fulfillment for Clark and Rebekah. Their journey to this moment has been marked by patience, long-distance and an unyielding commitment to one another. They’d been waiting for this day for what feels like forever, and it truly did not disappoint!

For most of the day, the weather was kind to us. The temperatures were mild and the clouds offered just enough shade for me to capture some exquisite detail shots of Rebekah’s flatly outside. Inside, the bridal party was a flurry of activity, filled with laughter, music and excitement for what lay ahead. The girls did their makeup, danced and shared in the joy of the moment with each other!

One of the most touching parts of the morning was when Rebekah did first looks with her family members. Her dad, two brothers and two sets of grandparents each had their moment with her, bringing on wave after wave of happy tears. Watching this tight-knit family care for each other throughout the day was truly heartwarming.

While Rebekah was enjoying these first look moments with her family, Clark was enjoying one with his as well! Groom’s don’t always get these special moments with their parents and siblings, but this is my formal petition to create more space for Groom’s to have first looks of their own!

Rebekah and Clark opted to skip a first look with each other. Instead, they met up for a few minutes before the ceremony, standing back-to-back while holding hands, and read letters they had written to one another. It was a deeply moving moment filled with tears and a palpable sense of anticipation for the journey they were about to embark on together.

As guests filled the sanctuary, the excitement continued to build up to the moment Rebekah walked down the aisle. Clark’s reaction was nothing short of pure awe for his gorgeous bride. Their officiant delivered a beautiful message, and the ceremony included a heartfelt moment of communion and prayer with Clark and Rebekah’s parents, accompanied by worship music sung by their talented siblings.

Following the ceremony, we headed out to the plaza for wedding party photos. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were incredibly supportive and kind all day, ensuring every detail was perfect for Clark and Rebekah. The bridesmaids, in particular, went above and beyond to make sure Rebekah felt loved and cared for throughout the day. What a special group!

And of course, before heading into the reception, we took some quick portraits of MR. AND MRS. WALKER!!!

The reception was a lively celebration kicked off by Clark and Rebekah’s first dance, dances with Rebekah’s dad and Clark’s mom, and one extra special surprise that Rebekah did not see coming! Clark had written a song to be specifically performed for Rebekah on their wedding day. They sat together while he played for her, and he didn’t leave a dry eye in the room.

Later in the reception, as the rain threatened outside, we seized a window of good weather to slip out and take some couples portraits with Ruby, the stunning 1951 Packard 250 convertible from Dream Drives BHM.

As the night came to a close, guests lined up outside with streamers to send Clark and Rebekah off into their new life together! A fitting end to a day filled with so much love and emotion.

These two mean so much to me, and it was the greatest honour to join them on their wedding day to capture these memories. Congratulations to the Walkers!!!
