October 25, 2025 was one of those perfect Alabama days that you dream about for a wedding. There was plenty of sunshine, a light breeze, and not a single cloud in sight! It never got above 75 degrees, and everything about the day felt calm, happy, and full of love. Elizabeth and Alex’s wedding was beautiful from start to finish, and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect way to celebrate two people who are truly meant for each other.

I actually met Elizabeth when I first toured Oris & Oak, Bluff Park’s newest wedding venue! I love keeping up with new spaces around Birmingham, and I had been itching to see this one. Elizabeth manages the venue, and from the moment we met, we instantly clicked. We realized we were the same age, had been dating our boyfriends (now husbands!) for the same amount of time, and even got engaged within two weeks of each other! It’s been such a joy walking through this season of life together.

Since she manages Oris & Oak, Elizabeth knew exactly which spots she wanted to highlight on her wedding day. Before the big day, we met up for a little walk-through so she could show me all her favorites: the massive oak tree, the swing Alex put up by himself at midnight, the cozy bridal cottage where they spent so many of their dating days, the open-air pavilion for cocktail hour, and the barn she completely transformed for the reception. Every corner of the property felt personal, thoughtful, and full of their story.

I showed up a bit early on the wedding day to capture some drone shots of the venue, and pulled it out again for Elizabeth and Alex’s portraits! I’ve been getting more confident with flying that little thing (and steering it away from trees, ha!), and Oris & Oak looked absolutely stunning from above. Seeing the whole property surrounded by fall color made the perfect backdrop for such a special day.

Elizabeth got her dress from Bustle in Homewood, and it was so perfect for her. The gown was elegant, timeless, and beautifully classic. She looked radiant walking down the aisle at Homewood Church of Christ, and Alex’s reaction said it all.

Once the sun set and the party started, the reception was an absolute blast. Emerald Empire Band kept everyone on their feet all night long. They always bring such a fun energy, and this night was no exception! Guests danced, sang along, and celebrated the new Mr. and Mrs. Henderson with so much joy. Their cake was five tiers tall (and every bit as delicious as it looked!), and as a late-night snack, they passed around Jack’s hamburgers, the perfect Alabama touch to end a perfect day.
