Paige + Matt: Howe Farms in Chattanooga, TN

As a wedding photographer based in Birmingham, AL, I often find myself traveling across the Southeast to capture the magic of couples’ special days! Paige and Matt’s wedding on June 29th took me to Howe Farms in Chattanooga, TN, just a scenic three-hour drive away. It was my first time photographing at this breathtaking venue, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!

Paige and Matt’s love story spans five beautiful years, culminating in a wedding day filled with personal touches. Paige infused her day with a stunning blue theme, evident in every detail from her shoe attire to the Bridesmaid dresses to décor. One of the sweetest details was the adorable “Bride” and “Groom” engraved glass coupes that sat on their cake table. Paige’s parents used them at their own wedding 40 years ago – sentimental and adorable!

Every detail that Paige included in the day had meaning and purpose. My favourite detail might just be the family recipe books that Paige and Matt handed out to all of their guests as favors!

The reception space was decorated so beautifully, from the magical drapery to each individual place setting. I couldn’t wait to see it filled with Paige and Matt’s best friends and family that night!

However, it’s the ceremony site that truly took my breath away. Set against the backdrop of Chattanooga’s rolling mountains, the venue’s bluff would provide a picturesque setting perfect to exchange vows in front of later that evening.

Paige had a clear vision for her wedding day, opting for a unique twist on the traditional wedding party. Her closest supporters were lovingly nicknamed “Team Paige,” with here sister, Brittany, standing proudly by her side as her “Best Girl.” Paige got ready with them that morning, giddy with excitement over the day head!

The minute Paige and Matt saw each other for the first time that day, it was as if everyone around took a huge sigh of relief. In moments like these, as you watch a Groom take in the beauty of his Bride, you find yourself forgetting about all the other wedding day to-dos and stressful details. You find yourself being thankful to witness such a meaningful moment and remembering that their love and commitment to each other is what matters most. Those beautiful smiles on their faces are priority #1!

Matt’s 13-year-old son, Asher, played a special part in the day as Matt’s Best Man. Paige absolutely adores Asher, and made sure to request moments throughout the day for some alone time, just the three of them. I loved watching them soak up the new reality of their sweet family of three!

Before the ceremony, we snagged some photos with Team Paige looking absolutely gorgeous! These girls love Paige so well, and it was evident throughout every moment of the day.

Paige and Matt’s personal vows to each other were so tender to witness, but perhaps the highlight of the ceremony were their vows to Asher, Matt’s son. I promise there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! Their words brought laughter and plenty of happy tears, paining a vivid picture of the love that awaited them in their journey ahead as one family.

Paige’s devotion to family was evident throughout the whole day, and after entering their reception, she and Matt cherished the opportunity to capture some more intimate portraits including their grandparents, parents, siblings and cousins.

Next, we took advantage of the setting sun and slipped out of the reception for a few minutes of portraits, just the two of them. They loved taking in a bit of peace and quiet, but couldn’t wait to get back up to the party where they cared so well for every person in attendance, taking time to speak to each guest.

As the sun finished setting on Paige and Matt’s unforgettable day, they opted for a fake exit amidst cold sparks and bubbles during an enchanting “blue hour.” The sky was a painted canvas of pink and purple hues, adding a magical backdrop to the celebration.

Afterwards, Paige and Matt returned to the party for another 45 minutes of dancing. They partied with abandon, belting out classics like “Mr. Brightside,” surrounded by friends and family who shared in their infectious happiness.

Being a part of Paige and Matt’s day at Howe Farms was such a privilege, and I am grateful for the opportunity to document their beautiful beginning as husband and wife. Their day was a beautiful reflection of them, and I’m proud to have captured it all!
