The Glimpse: June 2020

This month we ate a good old English picnic…

Complete with boiled eggs, pasta salad (a Stenner classic!), sausages and a few games! It was fun celebrating Dad’s birthday in the field behind our church, and so good to just be together.

This month I met one of my best friend’s babies…

Andrea and I have been best friends since eighth grade. Sweet Aletheia was born four months ago, and it was such a treat to visit Chattanooga for the day and meet this little cutie! Time with Andrea is always extremely encouraging and I’m grateful for her voice in my life.

This month we had a girls weekend…

My roommate and I are good friends with two people who happen to be good friends. So they came to visit for the weekend and we had the best time!! A girl’s weekend is not complete without Taco Mama, O’Henry’s, pedicures, pool time, and Real & Rosemary. We love you, Tay and Kelsey!

This month our city and nation was in distress…

I can’t even begin to put into words how horrifying it’s been watching our black brothers and sisters suffer at the hands of white supremacists in the last few months (and really centuries). While at the same time, it’s been so encouraging watching people step up to the plate to educate themselves, diversify their circles, pursue unity and repent of past sins. I’ve especially loved how downtown Birmingham rallied to remind us through art that we are better together.

This month I went up to the overlook a lot!

I love this little spot… the wet grass, the stone wall that perfectly holds a box of Chick-fil-A nuggets and the dusk that settles over my favourite city.

This month I got upgraded to #dollygirl…

We made a little film at church last month and it was fun to finally put my hands on a camera!

This month I discovered that I’m actually very good at cornhole…

Yeah… it was a surprise to me too. Our community group has loved playing cornhole the past few weeks and it’s been hilarious watching the competition grow!

This month I photographed my roomie’s engagement session!

I just really love these two. And though I’m glad Robert’s getting the best roommate, I’m sad that she’ll be leaving me! Their session was the bomb and I’m thrilled for the future Fosters.

This month I photographed lots of fun…

The future Harry’s, coming atcha January 2021! View their blog post here.

Mary McCain chose Taco Mama as one of her locations and let me just say… good choice, girl, good choice. She’s a ball of FUN!

That’s all, folks!
