This was my first time coordinating a styled shoot, and it was so fun! My new friend Sarah and I met up a few times prior to the shoot to decide our theme and plan our shots. Our goal was to collaborate and encourage one another, but it doesn’t hurt that the results turned out pretty nicely, too 🙂

Sarah is a Canadian calligrapher who married her love and moved to Birmingham. They met in Germany (so cool) and he works full time while she pursues her calligraphy dream full time. I love that her husband supports her in this dream, and they work so well as a team. In the past year they have moved houses and she started True North Paper Co., so it’s been quite the year!

I knew Sarah and I would get along as soon as we found out we were both dual citizens and loved Haagelslag. We both have Dutch ancestry and grew up eating the chocolate sprinkles (Haagelslag) you’ll see in the images below! We were both a little giddy about it. If you ever get a chance, try them on some toast, no questions asked!

Also…do you see the beautiful ginger cookies, tiny marshmallows and yummy hot chocolate? Yep, Sarah made it all, as well as the dreamy calligraphed pieces she created! Every piece was made so thoughtfully yet effortlessly. It was a breeze to style the shots because of the beautiful invites, envelopes, nametags and food tags she put together.
