Welcome to part 1 of my Mountain Brook series! Allow me to be your guide to all things Crestline Village.
As the easternmost village, it’s my fear that this third of the Mountain Brook triangle is often the most overlooked. In my opinion, it might just have the most to offer! Featuring local restaurants, adorable boutiques, a thriving plant nursery and the charming O’Neal Public Library, Crestline Village has a little something for everyone.
Stop by La Paz at 99 Euclid Ave. for fun vibes, tasty margaritas, and some of the best Mexican food in town! While you’re there, don’t forget to try the street corn, carnitas street tacos, and their incredible tamales. They are open for lunch and dinner every day!
Nestled behind the main strip of Crestline Village lies Oak Street Garden Shop. Their plant nursery is always filled to the top with shrubs, flowers, herbs and vegetables! If you’re lucky, you’ll spot the resident cat named Liam. He’s extremely friendly, so make sure to give him plenty of pets while you browse the inventory!
Coffee + Books. What more could you possibly need? If you’re looking for a new coffee shop to frequent, Church Street Coffee and Books is one of the sweetest, coziest spots in town. Grab a latte and a new read and get to work!
Craft’s opened in 2018 and became a quick local favorite. Owned by the O’Neal family (yes, the same name as the library), their menu is heavily inspired by traditional family recipes! I’ll be the first to say, their menu looks incredible. Check it out here!
Looking to update your closet? Elle is an adorable boutique located on Church St. specializing in apparel, jewelry and handbags. They often share their newest items on their Facebook!
I had no idea a pizza place could also be fancy, but Slim’s takes all your favorite pizza combos to the next level! You just have to get a little dolled up to sip an aperol spritz while eating a cheese cake served with Chantilly cream. Their menu is packed with tasty, unique flavor combinations, as well as plenty of the classics. Check it out here!
Sugar is a retro candy boutique. What more do I need to say? Walk through their front door and feel like a little kid in a candy shop! And don’t forget to grab some gourmet shaved ice while you’re there!
Bongiorno’s website honestly says it best: “Dining at Bongiorno is a close second to a trip to Italy.” The restaurant is family run and you can tell each meal is made with special care. If you’re looking for an incredible, authentic Italian meal, this is your place!
There’s not much I won’t do for a bagel from Crestline Bagel Co. Their bagels are the best in town, and I know tons of other Birmingham locals who agree. It’s a Crestline staple and the village wouldn’t be the same without it!
If you love Thai food, Surin is the place to be! Their menu is packed with family recipes and incredible authentic Thai dishes. 10/10, would recommend for your next date night in Crestline Village!
