As a wedding photographer of over 6 years, I’ve seen quite a few wedding venues. For most couples, booking a venue is the starting point when it comes to wedding planning, and selecting one that encompasses the heart of your event can be a tough challenge! The team at Southall Meadows, located just outside Nashville, TN, understands the struggle of being limited by the scope of your venue, and seeks to provide not just one, but two unique spaces that open the doors for every couple’s wedding day vision.

First, allow me to introduce you to The Hall, the one of the two indoor locations included in your rental at Southall Meadows. Featuring a seating capacity of 150, The Hall is the more modern option between the two buildings. Upon entering, you’re greeted by concrete floors, pristine white walls, floor to ceiling windows and stunning chandeliers. This amount of natural light is every photographer’s dream!

Also included in your rental are the chairs and handmade farm tables you see pictured, as well as additional round tables. The team at Southall Meadows is happy to work with you to discuss popular floor plans. They even offer services like event coordination that begins a few months out from your wedding, or The Magnolia Package, an all-inclusive full planning service! Regardless of whether or not you choose to use one of their coordinators, an event manager is always on-site during your event to assist with any venue-specific needs.

One of our favourite aspects of The Hall has to be the spacious Bridal suite. The room features a full bathroom, beautiful styling bar and plenty of space for you and all your best girls to get ready on the day of. Don’t worry, they didn’t forget about the guys! Across the hall there’s a groom’s suite, perfect for the boys to hang while they wait for their next photos!

The second indoor location is The Barn, a 100-year-old tobacco barn that is almost entirely original except for a few electrical updates and new flooring. We were mesmerized by the way the light peeked through the holes and gaps in the wood. This venue is rustic, but in a way we’ve never seen done before. It’s historic, captivating and rare, and stands in stark contrast to The Hall less than 50 feet away. The space can comfortably seat 250, so go ahead, add a few more to that guest list!

Lastly, I’d like to share one of the most popular outdoor ceremony locations on the property. Right outside the back doors of The Barn, you’ll find a winding pathway that serves as an aisle leading to The Meadow Tree. In the Summer and Fall, the tree is lush with leaves and the tall grass majestically frames the aisle. In the unfortunate event of rain, both The Barn and The Hall are available for a quick flip so you’re never left without options.

There are so many details that make Southall Meadows unique, but the most obvious is its diversity. Your rental includes all on-site locations for the entire day, so there’s nothing stopping you from using them all! In fact, their event staff encourages it. Have your ceremony under the meadow tree, spend cocktail hour under string lights in front of the blackberry field, serve dinner in the Barn and finish by dancing the night away in The Hall. The possibilities are absolutely endless.
