We’d been in this situation many times, but this time was different at this Lake Horton family session.

We actually got a picture of everybody smiling! If you know wriggly Brynlee and happy Joshua (my sweet niece and nephew), you know they’re constantly on the move! No child really likes smiling that much (let’s be real), but with the combination of cute outfits, a beautiful golden hour by the lake and the promise of playing at the park afterward, we had a lot of fun together!

I love the age they’re at right now. Brynlee is saying the funniest and kindest phrases — things such as “Oh, that’s so sweet of you!” “Why did you not curl your beautiful hair?” and closing her eyes on the swing while singing “Into the Unknown” from Frozen II. She’s my little buddy and I can’t get enough of playing with her when I’m home in Atlanta!

Joshua is into everything at the moment and his walking has progressed rapidly! He’s a cute, curious fella and loves opening drawers, making funny noises with his mouth and eating. Ha!

Every time I take photographs of Brynlee and Joshua, I aim to capture their little personalities in the best way I know how. I hope you see that in these images from our Lake Horton family session!
