On November 5th, I had the lovely honour of photographing the wedding of the new Mike and Emily Ferko! The day was set at the Gilded Lily in Irondale, AL. It was a new venue for me, but I loved the exposed brick, white walls, and customizability. I always love the challenge that a new venue brings: finding my favorite spots, the perfect lighting, and figuring out the best angle for an exciting exit!

Mike is a videographer for Down In Front Productions. Their company is incredibly fun to work with. They crack jokes all day long and really care for their couples. Mike mainly shoots sports, but picked up the camera at one point for fun during the reception! Emily works for Mayfield Ice Cream, so of course they had an ice cream bar with plenty of toppings! They also printed cardboard cutouts of their cats and carried them around the reception – absolutely hilarious!

Although the weather was pretty grim, the day ended with THE MOST IMPECCABLE sunset I’ve potentially EVER seen. Not only that, but we caught a glimpse of a double rainbow! It was phenomenal, and I’m so glad that God gave them that beautiful gift as a sign of His promise that He is always good to us. He can’t be anything else!
