Presenting my best of 2019 wedding photography!

This year I was blown away and honoured to photograph weddings for 16 amazing couples. Each day was unique and a perfect depiction of their personalities. We had tons of fun at engagement sessions, meaningful locations and had a number of hilarious moments that will stay secret! Marisa + Chase: Park Crest Events

Wintry sunshine is the best kind for photography! I love how piercing the light is, and how it only enhanced the radiance coming from Marisa + Chase! I had the honour of photographing their Park Crest Events wedding and their engagement session!

Julie + Alex: Redeemer Community Church + Regions Field

They got married on a chilly February day, but their love was enough to keep everyone warm. It was a day filled with special details passed down generations and the most magical light. Adam + Alex: The Barn at Shady Lane

Alex’s family owns Bluff Park Ice Cream Shoppe, so you bet there were sweet treats at the wedding day! The Barn at Shady Lane was a gracious host for this family wedding. You could feel the love all day as these two wed!

Caleb + Mary: Briarwood Presbyterian Church

All throughout their engagement, Mary kept saying “people are greater than things.” I will never forget that nugget of wisdom from this precious bride, and it was so true of their peaceful wedding day! Joy is their trademark, which made this wedding a blast!

Meaghan + Ross: Red Gates at Kelly Creek

My lovely bride Meaghan was perfectly content all day… not fussed with faking moments but leaning into the day, embracing its every detail and hugging everyone she talked with. She was a true beauty with a laugh that you couldn’t ignore. Ross was equally calm and cracked a joke with every person with whom he interacted. I specifically remember being doubled over laughing with the two of them. It is a sweet memory of this great day!

Stephanie + Drew: Aldridge Gardens

Wow… where to begin?! Stephanie incorporated so many creative, colourful and artistic elements to their day! Although it rained a bit, it didn’t dampen the mood one bit. Stephanie and her maid of honour choreographed a dance; they brought out glowsticks and bubbles and had fun fruit everywhere!

Kelsie + TJ: Hoover Country Club

Rusty + Michelle: Home in Indian Springs

Photographing Rusty + Michelle’s marriage was epic. They had finished building their new house a few weeks before, and they said their vows in that very living room. Beaming with excitement, these two were like teenagers in love! They incorporated her Louisiana roots with a second line and left in a classic car. What a day! Dean + Susan: Big Spring Park, Huntsville

I drove up to Huntsville on a Sunday afternoon to photograph portraits and a reception for these cuties who got married in Hawaii! I loved getting to know Dean and Susan while helping her put on final makeup touches and walking through Big Spring Park with them.

“Look what God has done!” was the resounding theme of the Swope’s wedding. I am #100percentswope forever and always! I love these two and am grateful to have gained them as friends throughout this process… getting coffee, going on walks, photographing their engagement… all of it was a treat!

Rachael + Jimmy: Little Gardens, Atlanta

They said vows and I do’s and slipped on sacred rings. Then the party started! Phone camera flashes lit up the night sky. Glasses clinked during toasts. Sparkler showers surrounded the couple. And the party was hopping! It was such a joy photographing the bumpin’ dance floor as these two celebrated their new marriage.

David + Katie: Highlands Chapel + Mathews Manor

The Allains became my instant friends. They came to Birmingham a few times throughout their engagement, and we met up a few times for a dinner and coffee. I love how easygoing they are, and how much they love spending time together! Their wedding was one of my favourite days, and their engagement session was equally epic!

Cameron + Tucker: First Baptist Birmingham + Vestavia Country Club

I met Tucker for the first time on wedding day (unusual for me), but felt like I was his friend right away. But that’s just the thing… it’s a perfect description of Cam and Tucker. They’re personable, kind, thoughtful and let you in to whatever they’re doing. I love that about them, and God will surely use it to build His kingdom!

Meg + Walker: St. Luke’s Episcopal + Iron City

Goodness gracious, this party was LIT (do I actually know what that means? You guess). The bridal party cracked me up from start to finish, and Walker splitting his pants on the dance floor was the perfect summation of the day! I love these two!

 

 

Emily + Bané: Sibyl Temple

If anyone is happier than Emily was on her wedding day, I think they would internally combust! The joy was palpable as these world travelers got married on top of a hill in Vestavia. I was so happy to capture this short ceremony and stunning portraits for the newlyweds!

 

Caroline + Ernie: The Barn at Shady Lane

As a bridesmaid and lead photographer for my best friend’s wedding, I shed many quiet tears on November 10. I got to watch from the outskirts and also be right in the thick of things. I photographed them reading letters from each other, prayed with bridesmaids before walking down the aisle, held her dress and bouquet while we trudged through leaves and quietly documented their precious first look. This day was one of the greatest honours of my life!
